Leading Causes of Pipeline Incidents

Excavation damage is one of the leading causes of pipeline incidents. Pennsylvania state law requires that you or the contractor performing the work call the PA One Call System by dialing 811 at least three business days before beginning any digging or excavation project. Every digging project requires that you call 811 before digging — even small projects such as planting trees or shrubs. If you hit an underground utility line while digging, you could harm yourself and those around you and disrupt vital services to an entire neighborhood or community. You could also be responsible for fines and repair costs.

The PA One Call Center will notify Adelphia Gateway LLC and other utility owners of your intent to excavate. Within three days, the utility companies will mark the location of the utility on your property using paint or stakes. Adelphia Gateway LLC does not charge a fee to have the pipeline located.

No excavation of any kind within the Adelphia Gateway right-of-way will be allowed without our representative at the site.

If you think you hit or damaged our pipeline while excavating, call us immediately.
